Metaverse Continuum

ree

While the metaverse or XR projects continue to evolve, even in this age of AgenticAI - we need to understand the continuum. Data transfer can be asynchronous or synchronous. What I wanted to highlight is that complexity is growing and oversight becomes harder. This is because we are choosing to delegate to bots. Here the legal systems are not keeping up. The legal consequences for failure are mostly borne by the human (that is the way the law works) and in some cases the corporation (which means at times there is a human scapegoat or it becomes a negotiation tactic where a single human without funds will be disadvantaged - especially when confronting powerful firms or governments). This also raises a question, even if you held AI accountable - technology is not inherently moral, does not have values nor can it feel remorse. Our legal system for punishment is based on the philosophy the person feels remorse for their actions. What do you think? What is the role of human-centered design? What philosophical discussions are we missing? How do we build safe guardrails?
